Eye Exam Image

At NewVision Eyecare, we strive to provide comprehensive, primary eye care for the whole family. Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. We recommend a yearly eye examination as a wise investment in the protection of your eyesight.  Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, especially in children, but can easily be diagnosed as part of a routine exam. By diagnosing eye and vision conditions early on, Dr. Moscovitz is able to provide treatment options and in many cases restore or prevent vision loss.

Eye Exam and Consultation

During an eye exam, Dr. Moscovitz and his staff will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you may be experiencing, medications you are currently taking, any blurry vision, your work or school environment, and your overall health. Family history and previous eye or vision conditions will also be discussed during this part of the examination. Dr. Moscovitz will consider this information when determining any treatments or recommendations.

Vision Testing

Regular vision testing and evaluations ensure that you always have the clearest vision possible. We provide a regular vision acuity test as part of a comprehensive eye exam. Dr. Moscovitz will measure how each eye is seeing and determine how much power, if any, is needed to correct the eyes to 20/20 vision. Depending on the results of your vision test, Dr. Moscovitz may prescribe corrective glasses, contact lenses, or both.

Eye Function Testing

In addition to vision testing, an eye exam includes testing eye functionality. Our optometrist performs several tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, eye muscle capabilities, peripheral vision, and responsiveness to light. Several other simple tests are completed to determine whether the eyes are focusing, moving, and working together properly. The test results enable Dr. Moscovitz to diagnose any underlying conditions that may be impairing the eyes ability to focus or work together.  If there are issues then a program of eye exercises, or vision therapy, may be prescribed.

Eye Health

As part of a comprehensive eye exam, Dr. Moscovitz examines the overall health of the eye by assessing the peripheral field of vision using a visual field analyzer, the pressure in the eyes and using a binocular microscope to evaluate the health of the internal structures of the eye.  Increased eye pressure, visual field defects or internal irregularities of the eye may be an indicator of glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration or cancer. After completing these short tests, Dr. Moscovitz reviews the results and discusses any treatments with you. Contact us at (425) 392-2196 today to schedule a comprehensive eye exam.

OPTOS Digital Retinal Photography

A new diagnostic tool which takes laser-assisted digital images of the inner structures of the eye, the retina and the optic nerve head, allows the doctor to view ocular health without the need for drops to dilate the pupils.  This test not only provides a superior view of the health of the eye but also helps our patients avoid the uncomfortable side effects of the drops like poor vision and light sensitivity for several hours.  At the time of your exam, we will ask if you would like to have these images taken as part of your evaluation

Client Testimonial

The best eyecare in the Sammamish/Issaquah area! The office staff are one of the most efficient, personable, knowledgeable & friendly teams I have ever encountered in a medical office. Dr. Moscovitz has always provided me with excellent vision care and the optical side of the practice has a great selection of frames to chose from.
